## Profile
Akshara Ravishankar is a Junior FWO postdoctoral fellow at the Ghent Center for South Asian Studies, Ghent University. She is currently working on a book project based on her PhD research, which she recently completed at the Department of South Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago. This postdoctoral project aims to trace the social histories of the Bhagavad Gītā in North India from the 16th to the 19th centuries, through a study of commentaries and adaptations of the text in Sanskrit and early Hindi.
